Side-Dish Cinema: Pairing Thanksgiving Foods With Movie Recommendations

Hello, Movie Mavens! Welcome back to the B Movies Blog. Today, we’re popping movie recommendations to pair with your favorite Thanksgiving foods into the ol’ VCR.

I told y’all I had big ideas for this series. 👀

But, I’m getting ahead of myself.

First and foremost, I want to say how thankful I am for all of you, Movie Mavens.

I didn’t know what to expect when we started the B Movies Blog almost two years ago (EXCUSE ME?), and y’all have continued to show up time and time again.

Secondly, I know that we’re all scared and sad and angry about what’s to come next year and the years to come. I also know that a lot of you might be spending today with family members who…aren’t.

We used to have Thanksgiving at my late grandmother’s house, who was a Trump-supporting Southern Baptist, so believe me, I know.

Please do something nice for yourself today because I know how draining those conversations and gatherings can be.

And finally, I just want to say that I know the holidays are hard for a lot of people, but please know that you’re never alone. I’m gonna drop some resources at the end of this piece, and don’t feel ashamed or embarrassed to use them. I have. I’ll just be honest.

Moving on.

Instead of a cheesy letter, I decided this year to throw out the second edition of Side-Dish Cinema and just make the introduction a cheesy letter (y’all know I couldn’t help myself).

As with the inaugural edition of Side-Dish Cinema, we’re pairing different foods and drinks with movie recommendations. And this time, we’re doing it with Thanksgiving foods.

Now, I know that everyone’s Thanksgiving looks different and not everyone celebrates. I TOTALLY hear you. I just decided to take some of the staples from my childhood.

Alrighty, that should do us for introductions and disclaimers.

Without further ado, please enjoy the second edition of Side-Dish Cinema:
