“Get Away, You Clone Freak!”: Some Of My Favorite Body Swap Content

Hello, Movie Mavens! Welcome back to the B Movies Blog. Today, we’re popping some of my favorite body swap content into the ol’ VCR. 

Let’s face it. 

Every now and then, pop culture will go through a big body swap phase. 

How the body swap presents itself might change, but they all follow the same basic recipe: 

Two people who are foils swap bodies and either a) learn something about each other or b) the “good” guy vanquishes the “bad” guy to get their respective bodies back. 

I’m not dissing this subgenre AT ALL, and I think there are a lot of good entries to highlight. 

However, some don’t hold up well (The Hot Chick, Monkeybone, etc…). 

I also want to clarify what I’m counting as body swap movies. 

I know we have movies that are body swap adjacent like 17 Again and 13 Going on 30, but I’m leaving them out because they’re more so being aged up or down. 

And, honestly, they open a horrifying can of worms about what happened to the consciousness of their older/younger selves while they were in their bodies. 

Finally, I know that including Face/Off might be controversial, but I think it totally counts because they switch faces, lives, etc…
