Hello, Movie Mavens! Welcome back to the B Movies Blog. Today, we’re popping Harry Lighton’s Pillion into the ol’ VCR.
Y’all, Pillion has been out for exactly five days, and I’ve already seen it twice.
Granted, the first time was because I was lucky enough to see it early, but I digress.
I cannot stress enough how good this movie is.
It’s one of my new favorite movies.
I kid you not.
But let’s back up.
For those not in the know, Pillion tells the story of timid Colin (Harry Melling) and the mysterious Ray (Alexander Skarsgård), a dominant biker, who takes Colin on as his submissive.
I was on board with Pillion from the second I heard about it because a) I was intrigued by the story, and b) Alexander Skarsgård is truly one of the hottest men alive.
And boy howdy, does this movie not disappoint on any level (unlike a certain adaptation I might mention that needed less vanilla and moor yearning).
But Pillion is about more than watching Alexander Skarsgård bend Harry Melling back like he’s possessed and walking backwards down a flight of stairs.
It’s about finding yourself and figuring out your own wants and needs.
It’s about the emotional complexities of relationships and the importance of making all types of relationships less taboo.
Yes, Alexander Skarsgård gets my motor revving, but Pillion is about so much more than his slutty little glasses.
If you’re able to catch this one in theaters, I can’t recommend it enough.
Hell, I may go see it a third time.
The last time I was this invested in a movie was Lisa Frankenstein, and as y’all know, I was a woman obsessed (and still am).
That’s how hard I’m riding for Pillion.
If you’re a big fan of Heated Rivalry and/or Call Me By Your Name, I can’t recommend this one enough.
And yes, that is, in fact, Dudley Dursley.*
*Fuck J.K. Rowling, though.
