Fashi-On, Fashi-Off: A List Of Fashion-Forward Movies That Are Always In Style

Hello, Movie Mavens! Welcome back to the B Movies Blog. Today, we’re popping fashion-forward movies into the ol’ VCR.

Well, friends, it’s time to do a little turn on the catwalk.

That’s right — we’re talking about fashion-forward movies.

“But, Baillee, what are fashion-forward movies?”

Thank you so much for asking!

I have a few pieces of criteria for this one, so buckle up that fashionable belt of yours.

First and foremost, fashion has to be a prominent part of the storyline.

For example, Romy and Michele makes the cut because they talk about making their clothes throughout and (I’d say spoiler alert, but it came out in 1997) open a boutique.

Clueless doesn’t make the cut because while Cher’s closet and wardrobe are totally buggin’, and there are multiple clothing references, fashion isn’t a huge part of the storyline.

Secondly, I tried to pick movies with characters who worked in fashion or design, but I’m also counting movies with models, like Zoolander, because they’re ingrained in the fashion world.

Finally, I know that The Neon Demon would also fit all of the criteria, but I just simply can’t recommend it to you.

Alrighty, that should do us for disclaimers and introductions

*Fair warning that Tr*mp is in this movie for a split second at the beginning.
