Hello, Movie Mavens! Welcome back to the B Movies Blog. Today, we’re popping office movies into the ol’ VCR.
Oftentimes, we use movies as a form of escapism.
We run away to magical lands and fight against zombies to ignore the problems we’re facing in our lives.
However, friends, sometimes we turn to movies for relatability; we need to see our life projected on that movie screen to feel less alone.
And that’s why we’re covering office movies today.
As always, I’m going to give you a quick rundown of how this list was curated.
First and foremost, as someone who worked in the service industry for a very long time, I want to dedicate another piece to service industry movies.
The service industry is an entirely different beast, and if you’ve ever worked in the service industry, you can attest to this fact.
Secondly, I am very fortunate to have a job that I love, but we’ve all had jobs, or moments at jobs, where our eyes twitch and we want to cry in the bathroom.
This list is perfect for those moments.
And finally, I tried to give some variety to this list.
There’s some comedy, horror, and drama, so there should be a little something for everyone.
Alrighty, that should do us for introductions and disclaimers.
Without further ado, meet us in the breakroom for some light gossip and these six office movies:
- 9 to 5
- Mayhem
- Working Girl
- Office Space
- Clockwatchers
- The Belko Experiment
