The Defense Rests: Some Of My Favorite Legal/Courtroom Dramas

Hello, Movie Mavens! Welcome back to the B Movies Blog. Today, we’re popping some of my favorite courtroom and legal dramas into the ol’ VCR.

I don’t know if this is tied to my recent dystopian movie fixation or what, but I’ve also been watching a lot of courtroom and legal movies.

Now, justice may not always be served, but these movies just hit differently with everything happening in the country.

(I also went to see To Kill a Mockingbird recently, and there was footage from when they celebrated its 50th anniversary at The White House in the preshow, and god, do I miss that bit of normalcy.)

I thought about opening this category to movies like Liar Liar and Legally Blonde, but I ultimately decided to keep this one a bit more somber.

I know that there are a couple of horror picks on here, but my defense is that they’re definitely drama-heavy.

Alrighty, that should do us for introductions and disclaimers.

Without further ado, here are 10 of my favorite legal/courtroom dramas:

  • Fracture
  • Primal Fear
  • The Crucible
  • A Few Good Men
  • Anatomy of a Fall
  • 12 Angry Men (1957)
  • Anatomy of a Murder
  • The Devil’s Advocate
  • To Kill a Mockingbird
  • The Exorcism of Emily Rose
